1 - Procedure for installing the Nucleon agent on Windows
1.1 - Technical requirements
Agent installation is supported on the following Windows versions:
- Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11
- Windows Server from 2008 R2
KB3033929 and KB3140245 must be installed on Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7.
1.2 - At the Nucleon console level
This phase allows you to retrieve the MSI from the Nucleon console in order to proceed with the installation at Windows level. The installation can only be done via Command lines as administrator.
- Connect to the Nucleon console and choose your entity,
- Click on the Endpoint tab:
- Click on New Endpoint:
- Copy the MSI according to the version of your server or Windows 32 or 64 bits workstation,
Command line options:
- SERVERS: list of servers to contact separated by ";" (it is useful to have several addresses/domain names filled in if the server address is different between local and from the Internet),
- SSLCHECK: SSL certificate verification; this option should be disabled if self-signed certificates are used,
- KEY: identifier of the entity where the agent should be associated,
- DEBUG: activation of debug mode (optional).
1.3 - Endpoint level
After retrieving the MSI from the console, go to the endpoint.
- Run the command prompt in Administrator mode, then paste the MSI and run the installation:
- After a few seconds, the agent is installed without restarting the computer.
- Check the Nucleon icon if it exists in the hidden icons:
- Once the Nucleon icon appears, click on it twice.
- The agent installation is complete with an Online status
- Once installed, the agent cannot be uninstalled or its services deactivated unless authorised from the console.
- The agent service is in Self_Protection mode, which means that the service cannot be stopped if the agent is activated in the console.
